DCSAA FLAG FOOTBALL INVITATIONAL

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The third annual DCSAA Flag Football Invitational will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at Eastern High School (1700 East Capital Street NE).

The schedule will be as follows:

  • 4:30 pm: Gates open to spectators
  • 5 pm: DCIAA champion Coolidge vs. PCSAA runner-up KIPP Legacy
  • 6 pm: PCSAA champion KIPP College Prep vs. DCIAA runner-up Dunbar
  • 7:30 pm: DCSAA Flag Football Invitational championship game

Please note that this will be the final DCSAA Flag Football Invitational. Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, DCSAA will sponsor girls’ flag football as a sanctioned state championship sport. Girls flag football is one of the fastest growing interscholastic sports in the nation and the DCSAA is the 20th state sanctioning body to sanction flag football as a state championship sport.

Locally, the growth in flag football has been fueled in part by the Washington Commanders. The Commanders generously provided uniforms and equipment to all of the record 26 DC high school teams that competed this spring. Additionally, the Commanders organized coaching and playing clinics to help new and veteran players and coaches, part of a seven-figure commitment by the team to support girls’ flag football in the Washington area.

The Washington Commanders will also be on hand Tuesday, with Major Tuddy, the Command Force and a Washington Legend cheering on the athletes during the final flag football invitational.
