Top-seeded St. John’s continued its dominance in DCSAA softball on Sunday, capturing a fourth consecutive DCSAA Softball Championship with a 5-1 victory over third-seeded Sidwell Friends at Catholic University Softball Stadium. The Cadets were led by a dominant performance in the circle from pitcher Skylar Kass, who threw a one-hitter while striking out 13 batters. Kass controlled the game from the opening inning, recording strikeouts against eight of the first nine batters she faced. She allowed just one infield single and issued only two walks throughout the championship matchup.
St. John’s also delivered timely offense to support the strong pitching effort. Ava Baxter paced the Cadets at the plate, recording a single and a double while scoring twice. Eleiana Jarboe added a single, drew a walk, and crossed home plate two times, while Chloe Armiger contributed two singles and a walk in the winning effort. After scoring two runs in the second inning, the Cadets extended their lead with a three-run fourth inning to take control of the game and secure the championship title. With the victory, St. John’s earned its fourth straight DCSAA Softball Championship and completed another impressive postseason run.
