HIGHLIGHTS AND MEDIA

Georgetown Visitation claimed the 2026 DCSAA Girls Lacrosse Championship with a 13-8 victory over St. John’s on Sunday at Carlini Field, earning redemption after falling to the Cadets in last year’s title game. The Cubs set the tone early, scoring the game’s first three goals and never surrendering the lead. Behind strong draw control and balanced offensive production, Georgetown Visitation gradually pulled away to secure the championship victory and close the season with a 12-6 record.

Senior midfielder Maeve McCarthy delivered a standout performance, scoring three goals and earning the game’s Most Valuable Player honors. The Virginia Tech commit also helped lead Visitation’s dominance in draw control alongside classmate McKenzie Rassas, helping the Cubs maintain possession and momentum throughout the afternoon. Junior attacker Chase Hobson added three goals for Georgetown Visitation, while Rassas and sophomore midfielder Nora Gormsen each scored twice in the championship win. St. John’s continued to battle throughout the contest behind contributions from junior attacker Riley Kimmel, senior attacker Harper Smith, and sophomore midfielder Kate Lutz, who each recorded two goals for the Cadets. With the win, Georgetown Visitation secured the DCSAA Girls Lacrosse title and capped off a strong postseason run with a championship performance on the biggest stage.
